LiveBelgium and Italy all squard in Women’s EUROs Group B clash
CHANCE BELGIUM
The contest is starting to open up and it’s Belgium’s turn to have a go at goal as Mariam Toloba’s low attempt is pushed behind by Giuliani.
CHANCE ITALY
The first real opening of the game comes for Italy after some neat passing around the area. Caruso finds half a yard to get her shot away to force Lichtfus into action.
Arianna Caruso shoots from just outside the area, and her effort is deflected towards goal, but Lisa Lichtfus is on hand to save.
Belgium and Italy seem happy to keep the tempo low in the opening exchanges and it’s been pretty cagey inside the opening 15 minutes.
Plenty of corners and free-kicks going into the box early on for both sides. No clear-cut chances at either end so far, however.
Tessa Wullaert has the first attempt at goal, but it’s a tame effort and comfortably saved by Laura Giuliani.
KICK OFF
We’re underway in Group B.
The teams are heading out onto the pitch and kick off is just moments away.
Just 15 minutes to go until Group B gets started at the Stade Tourbillon.
Belgium and Italy also met in the 2022 EURO group stage. The Red Flames won that match 1-0 thanks to Tine De Caigny’s second-half goal.
Tessa Wullaert, Belgium’s Women’s all-time leading scorer, starts this evening and will be hoping to recreate some of this magic from the 2022 EURO group stages.
Here’s how Belgium and Italy line up for the first match of Group B.
Hello and welcome to our matchday two coverage of the 2025 Women’s EUROs.
